Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a Pastoral Assistant for an alternative provision in Cradley Heath to support pupils aged 11–16. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a start after the October half term and ongoing term-by-term review.

You will aid emotional regulation, behaviour support, and safeguarding while building strong relationships with students and staff. The position offers competitive PAYE pay, access to CPD through My-Progression, and referral incentives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour or pastoral needs (essential).
• Experience implementing positive behaviour management strategies and supporting emotional regulation.

Salary: £100 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision in Cradley Heath supporting pupils aged 11-16 who benefit from education outside a mainstream setting. The school is committed to helping young people develop the confidence, qualifications and essential life skills needed to succeed beyond education.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Pastoral Assistant on a full-time, Monday to Friday basis, starting after October half term, with the position ongoing and reviewed term by term.

The successful Pastoral Assistant will have:

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or a related field (desirable but not essential)
• Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or pastoral needs (essential)
• Experience implementing positive behaviour management strategies and supporting emotional regulation
• A good understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable young people
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people
