TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Assistant for an alternative provision in Cradley Heath, working with pupils aged 11-16 who benefit from education outside a mainstream setting.

The role focuses on supporting SEMH needs, promoting emotional wellbeing, and implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies, rather than teaching, with a full-time Monday–Friday schedule starting after October half term.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or pastoral needs.
• Understanding safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable young people.
• Good communication and ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies.

Responsabilités

• Support pupils with SEMH needs and promote emotional wellbeing.
• Manage challenging behaviour using PBS strategies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Assist safeguarding and welfare of pupils as part of daily duties.
