Are you the kind of person who naturally looks out for others and loves working as part of a community?
Across North Yorkshire, our Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team keeps our community moving. Our extensive network of more than 120 vehicles, mainly minibuses, and approximately 340 drivers and passenger assistants work tirelessly to deliver safe, reliable transport where it's needed most. From providing essential school and social care transport services to providing local bus connections, we help people access learning, employment, and social centres, we ensure nobody gets left behind.
We bridge the gap to critical community hubs, enabling independent access to education, supported employment, and day centres, and other meaningful activities in our community. The team delivers approximately 800,000 passenger journeys per year including 20,000 wheelchair user journeys.
We are looking for caring, flexible and committed people to support a client on journeys to and from activities at various centres for 25 hours per week.
For term-time only employees, the annual salary is calculated pro rata and paid evenly over 12 months.
You will be helping to make sure all our passengers enjoy a safe and comfortable journey:
This role operates on a split-shift routine from Monday to Friday. Typical hours are 07:00 - 09:30 and 15:00 - 17:30. However, flexibility is needed to accommodate occasional adjustments based on changing passenger needs.
Experience is not essential, though some experience working in a similar role is an advantage. Full training is provided for the right individual who brings a caring and responsible approach.
We also offer a comprehensive training package including a Passenger Assistant Training Scheme (PATS), Basic First Aid and Managing Challenging Behaviour.
In addition to your salary, we offer a range of great benefits to help you financially and make life a bit easier:
