Job summary

First Military Recruitment are seeking a Parts Controller for one of our clients in Grantham, Lincolnshire. The role involves sourcing and managing forklift spare parts, coordinating orders and keeping stock records accurate.

You will work closely with service and workshop teams to minimise downtime, liaise with suppliers, and provide excellent customer service. Experience with spare parts, part-number identification and ERP systems is desirable; UK driving licence may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklift or industrial parts is preferred.
• Able to work independently or in a team.

• Capable of prioritising urgent requirements under pressure.

• Good IT skills including MS Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ordering, receiving and distribution of forklift spare parts.
• Identify and source parts for different forklift makes and models.
• Process enquiries from customers, service engineers and internal teams.
• Prepare quotations and process sales orders and purchase orders.
• Maintain stock records and perform regular stock checks.
• Monitor stock levels and place replenishment orders.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and distributors regarding availability, pricing.
• Arrange urgent parts deliveries to engineers and customers.
• Track backorders and update customers and engineers.
• Manage returns, warranty parts and damaged deliveries.
• Update parts and stock information on Protean, the company’s computer system.
• Help maintain an organized parts warehouse.
• Work closely with service and workshop teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensure invoices, delivery notes and purchase documents are accurate.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve parts-related queries.

The successful candidate will assist the Service Controller as part of a team, in sourcing and managing required parts for Bennie in Material handling equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the ordering, receiving and distribution of forklift spare parts.
• Identify and source parts for different forklift makes and models.
• Process parts enquiries from customers, service engineers and internal teams.

• Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks.
• Monitor stock levels and place replenishment orders when required.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and parts distributors regarding availability, pricing and delivery times.
• Arrange urgent parts deliveries to engineers and customers.
• Track backorders and keep customers and engineers updated.
• Manage returns, warranty parts and incorrect/damaged deliveries.
• Update parts and stock information on Protean, the company’s computer system.
• Help maintain an organised and efficient parts warehouse.
• Work closely with the service and workshop teams to minimise forklift downtime.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in forklift, plant, automotive, agricultural or industrial parts is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a service/parts team.
• Good negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise urgent requirements.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and stock/ERP systems.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Good knowledge of spare parts and part-number identification.
• Full UK driving licence may be required depending on the role
