Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced Parts Advisor for our client in Port Talbot. The role involves identifying and supplying parts for construction and heavy plant machinery, assisting customers in person, and driving stock accuracy and sales.

You will work with electronic catalogues and stock systems, manage backorders, and support colleagues across the business to deliver excellent service. A strong background in plant, construction, or automotive parts is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as Parts Advisor or similar role.
• Background in plant/construction or vehicle parts is preferred.
• Excellent communication with customers and colleagues.
• Organised with ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Identify and supply correct parts for construction and heavy plant machinery.

• Maintain stock levels and perform regular stock checks.

Parts Advisor

Location: Port Talbot, South Wales

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday | Day Shift

Bonus: Performance-related bonus + uncapped commission opportunities

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Parts Advisor to join an established organisation within the construction and heavy plant machinery sector in Port Talbot.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Parts Advisor, or someone with a strong background in plant, construction, agricultural machinery, automotive or commercial vehicle parts, looking for a long-term career with a reputable organisation.

The role combines parts identification, customer service, stock management and sales, with excellent opportunities to develop your product knowledge and maximise your earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and supply the correct parts and accessories for construction and heavy plant machinery.
• Deal with customers by phone, email and face-to-face, providing a high level of service.
• Identify customer requirements and provide accurate parts advice.
• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently.
• Use electronic parts catalogues and stock management systems.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and carry out regular stock checks.
• Liaise with engineers and technicians to ensure parts are available when required.
• Manage backorders, returns, warranty queries and supplier enquiries.
• Identify opportunities to increase parts and accessory sales.
• Provide accurate pricing and availability information.
• Maintain a well-organised and professional parts department.
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure excellent customer service.

About You

• Experienced within a Parts Advisor, Parts Counter, Parts Sales or similar role.
• Ideally experienced in plant, construction, agricultural, automotive or commercial vehicle parts.
• Confident identifying machinery parts and components.
• Comfortable using electronic parts catalogues and computerised stock systems.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Accurate and attentive to detail.
• Commercially aware with an interest in developing parts sales.
• A reliable team player with a proactive approach.

Experience with heavy plant or construction machinery would be advantageous, but transferable parts experience will also be considered.
