Consult2Recruit is seeking an experienced Parts Advisor to join our client in Exeter. The role focuses on parts identification, customer service, stock management and sales within the construction and heavy plant machinery sector.

You will handle parts orders, use electronic catalogs, and work closely with engineers to ensure parts are available when needed. Training and career progression are offered, with a Monday–Friday day shift and a performance-related bonus plus uncapped commission

Qualifications

• Experience in a Parts Advisor, Parts Counter or Parts Sales role.
• Experience with plant, construction, agricultural, automotive or commercial vehicle parts is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and supply correct parts for construction and heavy plant machinery.
• Assist customers by phone, email, and in person with a high level of service.
• Identify requirements and provide accurate parts advice.
• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently.
• Use electronic catalogs and stock systems to check availability.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and perform stock checks.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure parts availability.
• Manage backorders, returns, warranty queries and supplier inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to increase parts sales and add-ons.
• Provide pricing and availability information.
• Maintain a well-organised parts department and liaise with colleagues.

Salary: Up to 33,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday Day Shift

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Parts Advisor to join an established organisation within the construction and heavy plant machinery sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Parts Advisor, or someone with a strong background in plant, construction, agricultural machinery, automotive or commercial vehicle parts, looking for a long-term career with a reputable organisation.

The role combines parts identification, customer service, stock management and sales, with excellent opportunities to develop your product knowledge and maximise your earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and supply the correct parts and accessories for construction and heavy plant machinery.
• Deal with customers by phone, email and face-to-face, providing a high level of service.
• Identify customer requirements and provide accurate parts advice.
• Process parts orders accurately and efficiently.
• Use electronic parts catalogues and stock management systems.
• Maintain accurate stock levels and carry out regular stock checks.
• Liaise with engineers and technicians to ensure parts are available when required.
• Manage backorders, returns, warranty queries and supplier enquiries.
• Identify opportunities to increase parts and accessory sales.
• Provide accurate pricing and availability information.
• Maintain a well‑organised and professional parts department.
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to ensure excellent customer service.

About You

• Experienced within a Parts Advisor, Parts Counter, Parts Sales or similar role.
• Ideally experienced in plant, construction, agricultural, automotive or commercial vehicle parts.
• Confident identifying machinery parts and components.
• Comfortable using electronic parts catalogues and computerised stock systems.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Accurate and attentive to detail.
• Commercially aware with an interest in developing parts sales.
• A reliable team player with a proactive approach.

Experience with heavy plant or construction machinery would be advantageous, but transferable parts experience will also be considered.
