Job summary

Sussex Council is seeking a part-time interim Tenancy Relations Officer to join our housing team. The role is 3 days per week, with approximately 1 day on site and the remaining time remote, offering flexible hybrid working to support tenants and landlords under current legislation.

You will bring strong knowledge of tenancy relations and housing law, experience with sensitive landlord-tenant situations, and excellent negotiation and communication skills within a Local Authority or Private

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of tenancy relations and housing legislation.
• Experience handling sensitive landlord-tenant cases.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience in Local Authority or Private Sector Housing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support on tenancy relations matters.
• Apply knowledge of housing legislation to cases.
• Undertake tenancy-related enforcement where appropriate.
• Collaborate with Environmental Health / Private Sector Housing teams.
• Communicate confidently with tenants, landlords and internal/external stakeholders.
• Ensure cases are handled fairly and in line with current laws.
