Job summary

Parklea Primary School is seeking a dedicated support assistant to work 12 hours weekly across 39 weeks per year. You will provide classroom support to individuals or groups as directed by the class teacher, support pupils' social and emotional wellbeing, and help with first aid duties and lunchtime supervision.

The role covers Reception to Year 6, requiring basic maths and English, and calm, constructive responses when supporting pupils with SEN.

Qualifications

Provide support in the classroom to individuals/groups of pupils as directed by the class teacher/line manager.
Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.
Ability to respond calmly and constructively when dealing with students with SEN.
Carry out a lunchtime duty as part of their role.
Have the necessary skills and knowledge to work across the school from Reception to Year 6.
Have basic maths and English knowledge, in order to be able to provide the appropriate level of support to our pupils.
Complete first aid training
