Job summary

Parklea Primary School on the border with Central Bedfordshire is seeking enthusiastic staff to join a hardworking team. The role provides classroom support for individuals or groups as directed by teachers, with a focus on wellbeing and safe, calm learning environments.

You will work 30 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, assist across Reception to Year 6, contribute to health and safety including first aid, and take lunchtime duties as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Basic maths and English knowledge to support pupils.
• Ability to work across Reception to Year 6.
• Calm and constructive response when dealing with SEN pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to individuals or groups as directed by the class teacher/line manager.
• Support pupils' social and emotional well-being; report problems to the teacher as appropriate.
• Respond calmly and constructively when dealing with pupils with SEN.
• Work 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
• Contribute to health and safety of all pupils; first aid and intimate care training provided.
• Carry out a lunchtime duty as part of the role.
• Have the skills to work across the school from Reception to Year 6.
• Complete first aid training.
