Job summary

Smile Education is currently recruiting an experienced SEN teaching assistant to support a pupil within a primary school in the WS10 area. This is a part-time opportunity working every Thursday and Friday, making it ideal for an experienced teaching assistant looking for consistent and regular school-based work.

You will provide 1:1 support, help with academic and social development, support behaviour and emotional regulation, and work closely with the class teacher to create a calm, inclusive

Qualifications

• Experienced working with children with SEN
• Patient, calm and consistent in their approach
• Confident supporting children with additional needs
• Comfortable supporting behaviour and emotional regulation

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support to help the pupil access classroom learning
• Supporting academic, social and emotional development
• Helping the pupil remain engaged and focused during lessons
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Building a strong, trusting and consistent relationship with the pupil
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive interaction
• Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of the pupil
• Supporting classroom activities and working alongside the class teacher
• Communicating effectively with the class teacher and wider school team
• Helping create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
