Job summary

Active Care Group in Morpeth is seeking a part-time Day Support Worker to provide 1:1 care for a friendly gentleman in his 60s living with a spinal cord injury. The role offers around 3–4 shifts weekly, 7am–1pm, on a zero-hours contract.

You will help with personal care, mobility, accompanying him to appointments and activities, and driving him to stay active and independent while delivering compassionate, person-centred support.

Join a Brand‑New Care Team in Morpeth Help Someone Live Life Their Way £13.50 per hour | 3–4 shifts per week | 7am–1pm | Monday–Sunday Looking for a role where you can make a real difference every day? We’re building a brand‑new Care in the Home team in Morpeth and are looking for kind, reliable and compassionate Part‑Time Day Support Workers to provide 1:1 support to a friendly and independent gentleman in his 60s. Living with a spinal cord injury, he enjoys staying active and independent and is a real petrol head, with a passion for motorsport and fishing. This is more than providing care. It’s about building trust, supporting independence and helping someone continue doing the things they enjoy. In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero‑hours contract as care packages can change.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Personal care and hygiene, including bowel management such as digital stimulation and evacuation
• Moving and handling
• Supporting with appointments, outings and activities
• Driving your client to help him get out and about and enjoy his day‑to‑day life

• A full clean UK driving licence holder

Your Working Pattern

Monday–Sunday | 7am–1pm You’ll work a regular rolling rota, with around 3–4 shifts per week, giving you the opportunity to become a familiar and trusted member of the care team. The role is offered on a flexible zero‑hours contract, with regular shifts available.
