Job summary

Active Care Group is seeking a compassionate driver/carer to support a gentleman in Horncastle in his own home. The role offers flexible bank shifts (9am–5:30pm) with holiday/sickness cover, and involves helping him go out, attend appointments and social events, while ensuring inclusive conversation.

Lunch is provided during shifts. Applicants should have a full UK driving licence and be comfortable driving the client’s vehicle, with relocation kept in mind for local candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for someone in their home.
• Understanding of needs related to brain injury.
• Hold a full driving licence, preferably clean.

Responsibilities

• Work flexible bank shifts from 9:00 to 17:30 to cover holidays and sickness.
• Support the client at home and during activities outside the home.
• Assist with shopping, appointments and social events while communicating effectively.
• Join a consistent care team with regular rotas and clear communication with the client.

Meet the Client: I am a gentleman in my early 60's living in mid Lincolnshire. I suffered a brain injury thirty one years ago and have some mobility problems. I enjoy going to social events and clubs and visiting friends and family. I live on my own but require full time support from a companion /driver/carer to get me out and about in my own car.

About the job role

To work flexible bank shifts throughout the month from 9am to 5.30pm. To support the existing team for holiday and sickness cover. To support me in the house. To support me out and about shopping, at appointments and other social events. To be good at communicating with people and including me in the conversations. Lunch included (either at my home or out). In this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance. While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client.

When you will be working

• Day shifts (9am-5.30pm)
• Flexible bank shifts covering holiday and sickness approximately 2-3 days + per month
