Tidewater Community College is seeking a Part-Time Progress Specialist (Remediation/Retention) for the Norfolk Campus to support student success and retention by proactively assisting at-risk students, especially Pell-eligible or underserved groups. This role emphasizes early intervention and coordination with faculty and student services.

Competenze

• Experience in academic advising, retention, student success, or related area.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse populations.
• Knowledge of Pell-eligible and underserved student populations.

Mansioni

• Revise and relaunch early alert and progress reporting for gateway English/Math.
• Monitor at-risk students using Navigate and institutional data systems.
• Track credit accumulation and engage students not progressing toward 12 credits.
• Conduct targeted outreach via phone, text, and email to disengaged students.
• Provide proactive support and connect students to services.
• Refer students to tutoring, counseling, financial aid, coaching, and other services.
• Serve as liaison between students and campus resources to resolve barriers.
• Design and host small-group workshops on recovery, college navigation, and success topics.
• Participate in retention team meetings and campaigns.
• Generate and analyze retention risk reports to inform outreach.
