Job summary

Telford College is seeking a dedicated Progress Coach to support a defined caseload of students and collaborate with academic tutors to ensure a positive learning journey.

You will monitor progress, identify barriers to achievement, provide timely guidance, and support successful course completion during the 39-week term-time period. This is a permanent, full-time role reporting to the Faculty Director.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance or commit to achieving one.
• Hold a Level 2 Children and Young People’s Mental Health qualification or commit to achieve one.
• Hold a Level 2 Understanding Autism qualification or commit to achieve one.
• Level 2 qualification (GCSE A*-C, or equivalent) in Maths and English or willingness to attain.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of students to ensure progression and completion.
• Provide information, advice and guidance to support learner progression across levels.
• Establish the initial caseload at the start of each academic year, including diverse cohorts.
• Engage with students one-to-one to support target achievement set by staff.
• Develop professional relationships with students and teaching staff; attend course team meetings.
• Work with Student Services to maximise student success.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to enhance curriculum and progression.
• Attend CPD sessions to support development and knowledge.
• Develop knowledge of the curriculum area.
