Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking an experienced Lead Site Reliability Engineer for part-time job-share in Bournemouth. You will set the vision, strategy, and operating model for the SRE transformation, enabling business-aligned teams to deliver higher reliability and a better end-user experience.

You will lead a global program across regions, establish standards for SLOs/SLIs, incident response, and observability, while coaching teams and driving AI-enabled reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology support, production/DevOps, or infrastructure management.
• Led SRE/reliability engineering transformations in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong engineering background with automation and reliability delivery.
• Fluency in Python.
• Deep knowledge of SLOs/SLIs, incident management, observability across metrics/logs/traces, resilience engineering.
• Experience with telemetry tools: Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk.
• Experience delivering automation at scale (CI/CD, runbooks).
• Leadership: influencing without authority, coaching leaders, and building communities of practice.
• Strong risk, security, and controls mindset when applying AI to production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Defines the SRE vision, north-star outcomes, and multi-year roadmap for the Production Management team, aligned to CIB and JPM priorities.
• Establishes the SRE operating model across global regions (ways of working, intake, prioritization, engagement).
• Coaches Production Support leads to embed SRE practices and reduce operational toil.
• Builds a small, high-impact core SRE team or community of practice.
• Defines standards for service cataloging, SLO/SLI frameworks, incident reviews, and resilience patterns.
• Drives service reviews with evidence-based reporting (availability, latency, MTTR/MTTD, change failure rate).
• Champions AI adoption and AI-enabled capabilities to improve reliability and speed.
• Sets direction for observability across logs/metrics/traces and improves alerting quality.
• Builds partnerships with development, platform, and governance teams and communicates at all levels.
• Uses enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage and post-incident analysis.
