Warwickshire County Council’s Family Connect team is recruiting a permanent part-time Consultant Social Worker to provide countywide coverage from an office base in Warwick. This senior practitioner role is designed for an experienced social worker who can model best practice, offer professional leadership and support colleagues.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised professional Social Work qualification and maintain current registration with Social Work England.
• Bring significant experience of safeguarding children and working with families, including practice within complex and high-risk contexts.
• Demonstrate confident, proportionate and well-informed decision-making using Warwickshire’s Spectrum of Support to understand thresholds.

Responsabilités

• Act as a role model for high-quality, reflective and ethical safeguarding practice in line with the Warwickshire Practice Framework.
• Provide mentoring, coaching and specialist practice guidance to Social Workers and Child and Family Advisors.
• Demonstrate commitment to improving outcomes for children and families through restorative, strengths-based and relationship-led social work practice.
• Support day-to-day operational activity, including: overseeing and screening, allocating and authorising work, escalating safeguarding concerns to MACPT.
• Facilitate group supervision and targeted one-to-one sessions to promote reflection, learning and accountability.
• Apply strengths-based and relational understanding of risk and work restoratively with families to safeguard children during crises.
