Job summary

Sussex Teachers are seeking an Individual Needs Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 child in a Newhaven primary school. The role is part-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am–12.00pm, with PAYE pay at £14.50 per hour.

You will work one-to-one with a child who has speech and language needs, using play-based activities to build communication skills and confidence while maintaining a calm, structured environment.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children in education, childcare, youth work or care settings.

Responsibilities

• One-to-one support for a KS1 child in a dedicated space outside the classroom.
• Use creative, play-based activities to develop communication skills, build confidence and engagement in learning.
