Job summary

Sussex Teachers are seeking an Individual Needs Assistant to support a Key Stage 1 child in a Newhaven primary school. The role is part-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am–12.00pm, with PAYE pay at £14.50 per hour.

You will work one-to-one with a child who has speech and language needs, using play-based activities to build communication skills and confidence while maintaining a calm, structured environment.

Are you a nurturing and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant, Individual Needs Assistant or Learning Support Assistant looking for a part-time supply role in Newhaven?

Sussex Teachers are recruiting an Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to support a Key Stage 1 child for a long-term supply role at a small, well-regarded primary school in East Sussex.

About the Role

You will work one-to-one with a child who has speech and language needs and benefits from additional support with structure, routines and positive relationships. Support will mainly take place in a dedicated space outside the classroom, close to the main class and teaching team. Using creative, play-based activities, you will help the child develop their communication skills, build confidence and engage with learning. The role requires someone patient and consistent who can build trust while maintaining a firm but fair approach.
