Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a part-time role in a welcoming Bradford primary school. You will provide focused, one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning and participate in class activities.

This position offers flexibility, weekly pay, and opportunities to develop in SEND education. You will work alongside teachers and our education consultant to tailor interventions and track progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a classroom setting.
  • Experience in a primary school environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of KS1/KS2 curriculum is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN.
  • Deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
  • Support pupil academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure appropriate support.
  • Assist with small group activities when needed.
  • Contribute to an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN
  • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
  • Hold a Level 2 Childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Possess SEN-related training or qualifications (advantageous)
  • Have knowledge of the KS1 and/or KS2 curriculum
  • Be passionate about helping children achieve their potential
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
