Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming primary school in Huddersfield. This part-time role offers flexible days with a daily pay of £92 - £105 and weekly pay.

Hours are school-based (8:15am - 3:30pm). You will provide one-to-one support, deliver personalised learning, and work with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to help pupils achieve their potential in a caring, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN.
• Experience in a primary school setting.
• Knowledge of KS1/KS2 curriculum is beneficial.
• Level 2 Childcare qualification is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
• Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Monitor and record pupil progress.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
• Support small group activities when appropriate.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

To be considered for this role, you should:

• Have experience supporting children with SEN
• Have previous experience working within a primary school setting
• Hold a Level 2 Childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Possess SEN-related training or qualifications (advantageous)
• Have knowledge of the KS1 and/or KS2 curriculum
• Be passionate about helping children achieve their potential
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child welfare

• Adaptable and proactive in their approach
• Confident building positive relationships with pupils and staff
