Job summary

St George's Academy requires a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEMH and SEND inside a dedicated department. The role is 32.5 hours per week during 39 weeks of the year, with hours 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

You will work with individuals or small groups to apply strategies that improve learning, and coordinate with teaching and pastoral staff on EHCP processes where appropriate. Strong communication, organisational and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Learning Support or equivalent.
• Experience with SEMH or SEND preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and administrative skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to students.
• Identify strategies to positively manage SEMH and support learning.
• Collaborate with Pastoral team and SENDCO to plan SEND interventions and EHCP steps.
