Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council seeks a self-motivated Cook in Charge at Ysgol Cambrian to lead the school kitchen. This part-time, term-time role is 25 hours per week, typically 9am–2pm, Monday to Friday, with a Grade 5 hourly rate of £14.36.

You will prepare, cook and serve meals, supervise kitchen staff, and uphold Food Safety and Health & Safety standards, alongside safeguarding duties as part of the Council’s commitment to healthy, inclusive meals for pupils.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals, snacks and beverages including special dietary requirements.
• Operate kitchen in accordance with Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation.
• Order food and sundries and manage costs with effective portion control.
• Undertake digital administration and associated paperwork.
• Supervise all staff in the food preparation area.
• Communicate with staff and customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
