Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, working with Chartwells, is seeking an ambitious Chef on a part-time basis (30 hours per week) contracted to 42.6 weeks per year. You will prepare and serve high-quality food, oversee menu changes, and drive improvements across our education sector catering teams.

The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, has a Food Hygiene certificate, and experience supervising a team. A flexible approach to working is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a team and delivering high-quality food service.
• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent and a Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Be passionate about great tasting food and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback and continuously improve offerings.
• Support creation of new menus and creative concepts.
• Represent Chartwells and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
