Job summary

Chartwells, part of Compass Group UK&I, is recruiting a Chef on a part-time basis (32.5 hours per week) contracted to 43.8 weeks per year. You will prepare high-quality food, manage menus, and help enhance our food service offering across education sites in the UK.

The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, a Food Hygiene certificate, and experience supervising a team. A flexible approach to working is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising kitchen teams.
• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Food Hygiene certificate holders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
