Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council Careers is hiring a part-time Cleaner at Stonelaw High School, 140 Calderwood Road, Rutherglen. The post runs 17.5 hours per week during term time, with a work pattern of Monday to Friday 10.30am–2pm. The hourly rate is £13.80.

The role supports facilities across South Lanarkshire and is temporary until 23 October 2027. You will perform routine cleaning tasks, report to the Cleaning Supervisor, and ensure the security of the premises while maintaining COSHH-compliant

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning in a facilities or school environment.
• Ability to operate buffing machine and cleaning equipment.
• Willing to follow COSHH regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning of floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, sanitary areas and walls as per schedule.
• Report to the Cleaning Supervisor and follow instructions.
• Remove refuse and manage waste in line with disposal procedures.
• Ensure building security and act as key-holder when required.
