Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking a part-time Caretaker to manage daily maintenance, security, cleanliness and upkeep of school premises and grounds. The role collaborates with the Headteacher and current cleaner to provide a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include unlocking the school each morning, basic repairs, seasonal tasks, fire safety checks and reporting defects to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Unlocking school each morning, carrying out routine checks of the school grounds and building
• Undertake minor repairs and maintenance with some decorating tasks during school holidays
• Identify maintenance issues and report defects to the senior management team
• Carry out basic seasonal tasks eg collecting leaves and gritting paths
• Completing fire safety procedures including routine checks
• Maintain agreed areas of the school site to a clean, safe and presentable standards
• Ensuring adequate stock of toiletries eg hand towels, soap and cleaning products
