Job summary

Blackwood School is seeking a highly organised Caretaker to look after the school premises. You will work closely with the Head Teacher to manage maintenance, safety, security and cleanliness of the site, and represent the school with contractors and suppliers to ensure a safe environment for pupils and staff.

A working knowledge of COSHH and health and safety regulations is an advantage. The role supports a busy facility team within the Central Co-operative Learning Trust.

Qualifications

• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• DIY skills for maintenance and minor repairs.
• Working knowledge of COSHH and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and secure the school premises, ensuring safety, cleanliness and functionality.
• Represent the school when dealing with contractors and suppliers to keep the site in good order.
• Manage maintenance tasks, safety protocols and security to provide a safe environment for pupils and staff.
• Support the facilities team with general site duties as required.
