Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to support daily school meal operations at Down-Newcastle-Sacred Heart Primary School Dundrum. You will assist with food prep, service, and dining room duties under supervision, maintaining hygiene and customer service standards.

The role requires effective communication, teamwork and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy school catering environment. A retainer fee is paid during school holidays.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake job related training.
• Excellent communication and team-working skills.
• Organisational and planning skills; ability to work under pressure.
• Motivation to provide excellent food and customer service for pupils, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks, including transported meals.
• Assist with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintain contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Prepare dining area and set tables and dining space.
• Complete kitchen and dining room duties, including cleaning.
