Job summary

Education Authority is hiring part-time Catering Assistants for Limavady High School to support daily meals service. Responsibilities include food prep, serving, and maintaining dining areas. The role emphasizes teamwork, customer service and compliance with health and safety standards.

Training is provided and a retainer fee applies during school holidays. The positions offer 12.5 hours per week across four posts, with shifts Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Assist basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Perform simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organise and control food service points and transfer meals.
• Serve meals and snacks, including transported meals, to pupils.
• Promote meals to pupils, parents and staff while maintaining service quality.
• Coordinate with the central kitchen on service delivery and hygiene standards.
• Prepare dining area and layout tables, cutlery, and serving points.
• Maintain kitchen/dining area cleanliness and equipment, including washing up.
• Record temperatures for control purposes and ensure premises security.
• Complete administration and duties within the role's scope and policy.
