Job summary

Ardmore is seeking a Catering Assistant to join the school kitchen in Downpatrick on a 10-hour per week contract. You will support daily food preparation, service points, dining area setup, and basic kitchen duties under supervision.

You should have good communication and teamwork, be able to work under pressure, and demonstrate a customer-focused approach to pupils, parents and staff as part of the school's catering unit.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking, including reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintaining regular contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area: set tables, layout cutlery and water jugs.
• Completing general kitchen and dining room duties including washing up.
• Cleaning the kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment including floors and walls.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes as required.
• Securing premises as required.
• Completing duties as delegated in service provision.
• Carrying out duties to comply with Acts, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
• Completing duties within working conditions of the job.
• Completing necessary administration.
• Carrying out duties for jobs up to same grade as competence.
• Promoting and adhering to the Values/ethos of the School.
