Job summary

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks, including transported meals.
• Assisting promotion of meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing dining area and setting tables and serving points.
• Completing kitchen and dining room duties, washing up and clearing equipment.
• Cleaning kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment, floors and walls.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes.
• Securing premises as required.
• Carrying out duties in line with laws and regulations; codes of practice.
• Completing necessary administration and duties within competence.
• Promoting the school's values and ethos.
