Job summary

Homes for Students is seeking a Maintenance Operative for our Sizer Court property in Preston, working 20 hours per week from 10.00am to 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance and ensuring statutory compliance across the property.

You will work with minimal supervision, report issues promptly, and liaise with suppliers and contractors to maintain high standards of service and property condition.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of property maintenance within a similar environment or trained in a trade.
• Knowledge of safe working methods including COSHH, Manual Handling, working at height.
• Awareness of Health and Safety issues and legal requirements.
• Excellent customer care skills with ability to report outstanding actions and keep progress informed.
• Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience prioritising workload to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Proactive approach with ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Ability to work in a team and be flexible.
