Job summary

Homes for Students Ltd is recruiting a Maintenance Operative for Sizer Court in Preston. The role is 20 hours per week, 10.00am–2.00pm, Monday to Friday, handling planned and reactive upkeep while ensuring compliance and reporting issues to suppliers and contractors.

You will help maintain property condition, respond promptly to faults, and contribute to a high-quality customer experience through efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance within a similar environment or skilled trades with cross-discipline capability.
• Knowledge of safe working methods including COSHH, manual handling and working at height.
• Awareness of health and safety issues and legal requirements.
• Excellent customer care skills with ability to report outstanding actions and keep people informed.
• Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience prioritising workload to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Proactive approach with initiative to resolve issues quickly.
• Ability to work in a team and be flexible in approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance within the property.
• Ensure statutory compliance is maintained at all times.
• Report and respond to issues to internal and external contacts (suppliers/contractors).
• Drive high-quality customer experience regarding speed and quality of service for faults and repairs.
