Job summary

Spire Cheshire Hospital in Warrington invites applications for a part-time Chef/Cook role. You will supervise, prepare, present and coordinate daily food and beverage delivery, ensuring hygienic, high-quality output.

Shifts are 11:00–19:00 and 05:30–14:00, Monday to Friday with alternate weekends; permanent contract. Experience in large-scale kitchen operations and a strong customer service ethos are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a kitchen environment and cooking for large numbers of people.
• Experience in a restaurant-style kitchen, wards and with visitors.
• Basic food hygiene and/or catering certificates desirable but not essential.
• Good communication skills and ability to establish rapport with customers.
• Commitment to providing great customer service and willingness to develop skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and flexibility for evenings and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist other team members and maintain positive working relationships.
• Record and follow HACCP and health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with serving food to staff, patients, consultants and visitors as required.
• Service of Staff Restaurant and maintain flow to service counters to standard.
• Prepare food and beverages for special functions and related activities as directed.
• Produce meals for patients, visitors, consultants and staff at required times to standard.
• Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations for kitchen and related areas.
• Check in deliveries and ensure records are kept.
• Undertake cleaning duties and maintain a clean, tidy work environment.
• Maintain high personal hygiene and wear the correct uniform.
