Job summary

New Southgate Surgery is seeking a Deputy Practice Manager to support the Practice Manager and GP partners in running daily operations across governance, HR, patient services, finance and IT. The role covers deputising for the Practice Manager and working in a teaching practice with 14,000 patients.

You will oversee operations, staff management, budget monitoring and policy development while collaborating with clinicians and admin teams in a busy primary care setting.

Qualifications

• A Level standard or equivalent.
• Evidence of management or leadership training.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the practice.
• Line management of reception and administrative teams.
• Workforce planning, rota management and leave coordination.
• Assisting with appraisals, probation reviews and performance management.
• Supporting recruitment, induction and staff development.
• Assisting with CQC compliance and quality assurance.
• Supporting information governance, GDPR and health and safety.
• Assisting with patient feedback and complaints.
• Developing and implementing practice policies and procedures.
• Assisting with budget monitoring and resource management.
• Liaising with IT providers and supporting clinical and administrative systems.
• Deputising for the Practice Manager where appropriate.
