Job summary

Tile House Surgery is seeking a Deputy Practice Manager for a 12‑month maternity cover role starting in early November 2026. The post supports the Practice Manager with daily operations, staff queries, system access and telephony, and provides management cover in their absence.

The role is 30 hours over four days (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri) in a large training GP practice with c.13,000 patients. Significant NHS GP practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne and e-RS are required.

Qualifications

• Significant NHS GP practice experience is required.
• Experience advising multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting staff and staff onboarding/offboarding.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for staff queries on policies, procedures, systems and day-to-day operations.
• Support Practice Manager in implementing policies and service improvements.
• Provide guidance to clinical and administrative teams to keep services running smoothly.
• Provide management cover in the Practice Manager's absence.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding for all staff including system access and telephony.
