Job summary

Bradley Environmental Consultants – Powered by Vadella, part of the Vadella Group, seeks a Part-Time P401 Qualified Laboratory Analyst to join our UKAS-accredited laboratory in Halesowen.

You will analyze asbestos bulk samples per ISO/IEC 17025, maintain quality records, and contribute to UKAS accreditation while working 20 hours per week, 1:00pm–5:00pm, on-site. The role offers a structured environment with ongoing training and career progression within a growing nationwide consultancy.

Qualifications

• BOHS P401 qualification (essential).
• UKAS-accredited asbestos laboratory experience (12 months).
• Understanding of asbestos bulk sample analysis and quality procedures.
• Strong IT skills (Word/Excel)
• Experience using TEAMS (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage workloads independently and in a team.
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous development.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk samples in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
• Identify and report asbestos-containing materials using approved analytical techniques.
• Produce accurate laboratory reports for internal teams and external clients.
• Maintain laboratory records and documentation per quality procedures.
• Work in compliance with UKAS requirements and health & safety legislation.
• Participate in internal QA programmes, audits and proficiency testing.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory safety.
• Undertake ongoing professional development and training.
