Job summary

Bradley Environmental Consultants, powered by the Vadella Group, is seeking a Part‑Time P401 Qualified Laboratory Analyst to join our UKAS-accredited lab in Halesowen.

You will analyse asbestos bulk samples, maintain quality procedures and produce reports for internal and external clients, helping to uphold UKAS accreditation and participate in continual professional development within a nationwide consultancy.

Qualifications

• BOHS P401 qualification (essential).
• Minimum of twelve months' experience in a UKAS-accredited asbestos laboratory.
• Understanding of asbestos bulk sample analysis and laboratory quality procedures.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using TEAMS (desirable but not essential).
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and organise workloads effectively while working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk samples in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
• Accurately identify and report asbestos-containing materials using approved analytical techniques.
• Produce accurate laboratory reports for internal teams and external clients.
• Maintain laboratory records and documentation in accordance with company quality procedures.
• Work in compliance with UKAS requirements, company procedures and health & safety legislation.
• Participate in internal quality assurance programmes, audits and proficiency testing.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory safety.
• Undertake continuing professional development and training as required.
