Job summary

Bradley Environmental Consultants is seeking a Part-Time Qualified Laboratory Analyst at our Maidstone UKAS-accredited lab. You will analyse asbestos bulk samples to ISO/IEC 17025 standards and prepare reports for internal and external clients.

The role requires a P401 qualification with at least 12 months UKAS-lab experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team within a busy environment.

Qualifications

• BOHS P401 qualification (essential).
• Minimum of twelve months' experience working within a UKAS-accredited asbestos laboratory.
• Thorough understanding of asbestos bulk sample analysis and laboratory quality procedures.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using TEAMS (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and organise workloads effectively while working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk samples in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
• Identify and report asbestos-containing materials using approved analytical techniques.
• Produce accurate laboratory reports for internal teams and external clients.
• Maintain laboratory records and documentation per quality procedures.
• Comply with UKAS requirements, company procedures and health & safety legislation.
• Participate in internal quality assurance programmes, audits and proficiency testing.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory safety.
• Undertake continuing professional development and training as required.
