Job summary

Bradley Environmental Consultants is seeking a Part-Time Qualified Laboratory Analyst to join our UKAS-accredited lab in Blackpool. You'll analyze asbestos bulk samples to ISO/IEC 17025 standards, ensuring high-quality results and maintaining accreditation compliance.

The role requires a BOHS P401 qualification, at least 12 months' UKAS lab experience, strong IT skills, and excellent communication. 20 hours/week, on-site with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• BOHS P401 qualification (essential).
• A minimum of twelve months' experience in a UKAS-accredited asbestos laboratory.
• Understanding of asbestos bulk sample analysis and lab quality procedures.
• Good IT skills, including Word and Excel.
• Experience using TEAMS.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage and organise workloads while working independently and in a team.
• Commitment to professional standards and continuous development.

Responsibilities

• Analyse asbestos bulk samples per ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.
• Identify and report asbestos-containing materials using approved techniques.
• Produce accurate laboratory reports for internal and external clients.
• Maintain laboratory records per quality procedures.
• Comply with UKAS requirements, procedures and health & safety rules.
• Participate in internal QA programmes, audits and proficiency testing.
• Maintain housekeeping and laboratory safety.
• Engage in CPD and training as required.
