Job summary

Bedspace Resource Limited in Cheshire seeks an Outreach Support Worker to assist young people and adults with independent living skills. The role is part-time (20 hours) across Monday to Friday, 10:00am–2:00pm, based mainly in Chester with travel across Cheshire. A car insured for business use is essential.

The successful candidate will support clients, liaise with professionals, and produce reports while safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience supporting people with support needs to gain independence.
  • Travel across the North West region is essential and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
  • Thorough knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.
  • Computer literate with good understanding of Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload in the Chester area and help clients develop independent living skills.
  • Liaise with Social Workers, Healthcare practitioners, DWP, and the Police.
  • Write detailed reports assessing a service user's independent living skills.
  • Undertake weekly inspections of Service User properties.
  • Support access to education and employment opportunities.
  • Promote wellbeing and de-escalate challenging situations when they arise.
  • Signpost to appropriate services including mental health and counselling.
