Job summary

ASDA Opticians in Langley Mill is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join a part-time, 32-hour week. You will perform eye examinations, contact lens checks and extended service examinations, working with the Dispensing Optician Manager to train staff and uphold department standards.

We support NHS extended services, offer funded accreditations, and a robust CPD programme. You will be encouraged to supervise students and contribute to service development while maintaining excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• GOC registration as a prerequisite for practice.
• NHS performer list evidence required for the role.
• MECs or WECs accreditation, or willingness to obtain within 12 months—funded by ASDA.
• On track to meet CPD points requirements.
• Ability to deliver a memorable customer experience using clinical skills.
• A passion for developing new patient services and shaping department culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform eye examinations, contact lens checks and extended service exams.
• Collaborate with the Dispensing Optician Manager for training, coaching and standards.
• Support NHS extended service contracts and pursue additional accreditations as needed.
