Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Irvine/Ayr is seeking a Funeral Service Crew member on a part-time basis (30 hours per week). The role pays £13.24 per hour and includes weekend on-call duties, with branches in Irvine and Ayr.

Full training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided, including a strong pension scheme and employee discounts. A full UK manual driving licence is required, and some direct contact with the deceased is part of the duties.

Qualifications

• No prior funeral industry experience required; full training provided.
• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical duties including lifting.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications with detailed, timely records.
