Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Watford is hiring Funeral Attendants. This part-time role (30 hours/week) involves collecting the deceased, transporting coffins, preparing for viewings and funerals, and maintaining vehicle and equipment hygiene. Full training and benefits are provided.

You may be on a rotating on-call schedule with shifts between 8am–8pm, Monday to Sunday. Applicants must have a full UK manual driving licence and be comfortable with the physical tasks, including lifting.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift and move coffins.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management systems and ensure records are up to date.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins following safety guidelines.
