Job summary

Overdale Medical Practice is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic medical receptionist to join a friendly team in the East Midlands. Training will be provided, so previous medical receptionist or administrative experience is desirable but not essential.

The role is approximately 24 hours per week, with at least one evening and one Saturday per month at enhanced rate, and coverage during sickness or absences. Interviews will take place on 18 November.

Qualifications

• Previous medical receptionist/administrative experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Part-time role at approximately 24 hours per week with some evenings/weekends to cover.
• Interviews will be held on 18th November.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an effective and efficient reception service for patients and visitors.
• Handle general enquiries, explain procedures, and book new and follow-up appointments.
• Manage urgent same-day access in a calm, patient-centered way.
• Explain practice arrangements and capture required information for new or temporary patients.
• Take and divert calls, take messages, and ensure prompt delivery of information.
• Process home visit requests and ensure prescriptions are ready for collection within 48 hours.
• Record patient information and maintain accurate filing and records.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and keep reception and waiting area tidy.
