Job summary

Provit Recruitment is seeking a passionate Maths Teacher for an alternative provision setting in East Birmingham. This part-time role offers 6 hours per week across two days, delivering tailored Maths lessons to learners facing barriers to mainstream education.

You will work with small groups and 1:1 sessions, supporting progress and personal development while maintaining safeguarding standards. A flexible, relationship-focused educator will thrive here.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Maths teaching experience in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom control.
  • Ability to engage learners and tailor lessons to ability levels.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated Maths lessons in small groups and 1:1 settings.
  • Plan engaging and purposeful learning activities.
  • Track learner progress and complete assessments and reporting.
  • Support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Build positive relationships with learners, families and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and support teams.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Maintain safeguarding and compliance standards.

Maths Teacher - Alternative Provision

Multiple Sites - East Birmingham

Part Time 2 Days (6 Hours Per week)

Up to £55,000 Pro Rata

We are exclusively partnering with a specialist alternative education provider seeking passionate and resilient Maths Teachers to join their growing team.

The Role

As a Maths Teacher, you ll take ownership of planning and delivering high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of learners within specialist and alternative provision settings.

You ll work closely with support staff, mentors, and wider professionals to create positive learning experiences that encourage engagement, progress, and emotional growth.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering differentiated Maths lessons in small groups and 1:1 settings

What We re Looking For
Essential:
  • QTS, QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience planning and delivering Maths lessons
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A real ability to relate to learners & breakdown barriers
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable:
  • Experience within Alternative Provision, PRUs, SEN, or specialist education
  • Experience supporting learners with SEMH or additional needs
  • IQA qualification
