Job summary

Provit Recruitment are partnering with a specialist alternative education provider in East Birmingham to recruit a Maths Teacher for a part-time position. The role covers 2 days (6 hours per week) with a pro rata salary up to £55,000.

You will deliver differentiated Maths lessons in small groups and 1:1, track progress, support safeguarding, and work with support teams. The ideal candidate holds QTS or equivalent, has experience delivering Maths lessons, and is passionate about helping learners

Qualifications

  • Essential teaching qualification and Maths lesson delivery experience.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A real ability to relate to learners and break down barriers.
  • Good safeguarding and child-protection understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver differentiated Maths lessons in small groups and 1:1 settings.
  • Plan engaging and purposeful learning activities.
  • Track learner progress and complete assessments and reporting.
  • Support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
  • Build positive relationships with learners, families and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and support teams.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Maintain safeguarding and compliance standards.

Maths Teacher - Alternative Provision

Multiple Sites - East Birmingham

Part Time | 2 Days (6 Hours Per week)

Up to £55,000 Pro Rata

We are exclusively partnering with a specialist alternative education provider seeking passionate and resilient Maths Teachers to join their growing team.

Key responsibilities
  • Delivering differentiated Maths lessons in small groups and 1:1 settings

  • Tracking learner progress and completing assessments and reporting
  • Supporting behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Building positive relationships with learners, families, and external agencies
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and support teams

  • Maintaining safeguarding and compliance standards
What We’re Looking For
Essential
  • QTS, QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience planning and delivering Maths lessons
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A real ability to relate to learners & breakdown barriers
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable
  • Experience within Alternative Provision, PRUs, SEN, or specialist education
  • Experience supporting learners with SEMH or additional needs
  • IQA qualification
