Job summary

Market Harborough Church of England Academy is seeking a part-time Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. The role supports teaching and SEN learners under teacher guidance, assisting with planned activities and providing feedback on pupil progress.

We value organised, reliable staff with good communication, literacy and numeracy skills. You will work 9:00-11:30 and 13:00-15:00, Monday to Friday, 27.5 hours across 39 weeks, with DBS checks and safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in STL or equivalent.
• Ability to meet STL Level 2 NOS.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the teacher in the delivery of planned whole class learning activities.
• Work under direct supervision to carry out planned learning activities with individual pupils or small groups, giving feedback on engagement and achievement of learning objectives.
• Help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with lesson plans.
• Observe and feed back to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour, taking action as appropriate in line with school policies.
• Support pupils to improve numeracy and literacy through focused activities and across the curriculum.
• Prepare and utilise ICT resources to support pupils learning.
