Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our Printworks Campus. This part-time, reduced year role supports learners with diverse needs across practical and theory-based learning, helping them engage and progress in their studies.

The successful candidate will provide personalised assistance, working closely with curriculum staff to support literacy, numeracy and subject-specific needs, while contributing to an inclusive, high-challenge learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or commitment to achieving within one year.
• Experience or qualifications related to Printworks subjects is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide support inside and outside the classroom, including off-site visits.
• Support students with additional needs (wheelchair users, hearing impairment, visual impairment).
• Assist with planning, preparation and assessment of learning as part of the course team.
• Provide in-class support for High Needs and SEND.
• Provide reports on students with High Needs or SEND.
• Assist with emergency evacuation plans and practices.
• Keep accurate and timely records of progress and strategies.
