Job summary

North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Clinical Lead Speech and Language Therapist with a focus on Developmental Language Disorder. 0.4 wte part-time post based across Hartlepool, Stockton and Darlington sites.

You will lead the Speech and Language Therapy team, develop services for children and young people with developmental language disorders, and collaborate with education staff and MDT to deliver high quality care.

Responsibilities

• Generate appropriate strategies to manage an individual highly specialist caseload including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge.
• Develop and implement highly specialist care protocols and programmes of care and treatment, to meet the needs of clients in conjunction with their parents, carers, education staff and other members of the MDT.
• Independently manage and/or negotiate the management of complex cases with others, e.g. onward referral to other highly specialist clinicians or support agencies or consultants as appropriate.
• Ensure clients/families are involved in the planning and prioritisation of their care plans wherever possible.
• Adapt practice to meet individual client circumstances including regard for cultural and linguistic differences.
